Patrol Division

Welcome to the Audrain County Sheriff's Office Patrol Division. The division is comprised of State Certified law enforcement officers that are sworn to serve the citizens of Audrain County. The Division has 12 deputies, 9 of which are assigned to regular patrol duty and respond to calls, including the division commander. There are 3 members that are assigned to investigations and conduct follow up investigation of criminal activity. Lastly, a deputy is assigned as a School Resource Officer (SRO) for the school districts of Community RVI and Van-Far.

Patrol deputies respond to requests for service from members of the general public and other government agencies, provide protection for persons and property, enforce laws, attend community-based functions, and perform many other duties as expected of deputy sheriffs, including serving all types of judicial papers and process.

Deputies are required by law to gain 48 hours of continuing education and training every 3 years, and the Sheriff's Office as a whole is very training oriented. Members of the division, when compared to most other agencies our size, are very well trained. Numerous members of the division are certified instructors in different aspects of law enforcement, and when put together, can instruct and train other in service peace officers and academy recruits in virtually any aspect of police work.
